For those of you that don’t live in Nottinghamshire (Warra yer playin at? its Bleddeh Luvleh!)
You will not be aware of the ongoing saga that is the NET Tram Extensions to Clifton and Toton. When I moved to Beeston in 2013, the work had not long started, and the new line was due to be finished in May 2014…. Then it was January 2015…..
Now, 8 Months later it has opened, and Beeston is less of a building site, so we thought we’d ‘av a go!
The conclusion? It’s dead good! Its no further to walk to the stop in the morning, because of the new ‘Beeston Interchange’ (Ooh, verreh posh!) and it stops right outside the Broadmarsh (well, almost!)
It’ll also gerrus to work on time, so that’s a bonus for all the times the Indigo has let us dahn!
All those owd boggers we’ve heard sayin “Well aa won’t be usin’ it, bleddeh noisy thing!” They’ll all be on it before long, just like they all shop in the big Tesco, despite boycotting it when it was being built!
I dread to think how much money, time, heartache and disruption has been caused by all this work, not to mention the people that live right on its route; but it was always going to happen, and now its finally here, we may as well make the most of it! Although, in a city that already has a successful tram route to Hucknall, it begs the question – How could they make so many mistakes the second time around?
It was quite interesting to see the city from a different perspective, without being governed by traffic delays. The NET are also offering a £10 weekly ticket offer until Next Monday, so it’d be rude not to take advantage of it!
You can read a proper article with facts and stuff on the Nottingham BBC website by clicking here, which includes a brilliant comment from former Broxtowe Councillor Steve Barber
“We are very relieved, as, I think, are a lot of people in Beeston.”
Ta- ra for now, dukkies!
